Tumiki Fighters est un shoot them up abstrait en 3D et à défilement latéral. Le joueur pilote un avion et détruit de nombreux ennemis.
L'une de ses particularités est que le joueur à la possibilité de récupérer les vaisseaux ennemis et de les attacher à son vaisseau pour en augmenter la puissance de feu.
