The new version of ESClinux, the live-cd for creating and playing interactive fiction, is out. It contains updates of gnome-inform7 and inform7, all inform 7 extensions, ifmapper, and some bugfix. (it contains also a working version of htmltads emulated with wine, the jacl gaming system, some roguelike and such) It uses linux debian, and the newest KDE desktop. The system is rather light and fast to boot up. In order to configure the video card for optimized drivers, it's necessary to exit the graphical session, log in in console mode, and type : sudo killall kdm sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg (sorry it's in azerty, use the - on the numeric pad, or on azerty the - is in place of the 6 (above t and y). It will be replaced by the xconf command in the next release. - at bootime, there is a "slax" clover logo, which is a distribution on which this one is based (the linux-live scripts). I'm afraid I can't easily change the logo without recompiling the whole linux kernel and modules. - the Spanish version of Inform is not working out of the box.
